This is the lineup of base cabinets on the eastern wall. The peninsula will T off the closest cabinet.
Switching sides, this is the space formerly(?) known as the Corner of Contention!

Weekly update?

Here is the corner cabinet shown last week. It's all in place now, with a bank of drawers next to it.
Test fitting the sink base and a drawer section. The plumbing and electrical openings are done.
Prepping for a laminate covering in the sink base. You don't want to spill this stuff!

We opened the dishwasher box this week, just to check things out.

I knew she had a long tongue, but REALLY!

Catching up, again.

Here is "Cabinet 6". It is in the space between the window and the sliding door. There will be a peninsula under the light fixture.

This cabinet will go above the fridge. You can see the color change from applying boild linseed oil.

The dining room and kitchen decorative lights are installed.

The bathroom is done except for base trim, closet shelves, and trim around the doors. The light fixture, mirror and blinds finished what we will do for now.

Two more upper cabinets almost ready to go up. They are in two chunks, but it really should count as five cabinets. Both big sections will get two sets of double doors.
This one is placed on the floor below where it will be mounted. Two upper cabinets were built in one piece. When the clamps come off, this is what you get!

The first four upper cabinets are in place. The microwave and stove are functional!

I'm a bit behind on posting photos. This was December 28, installing the first cabinet.

We are finally to the point where we can spread out a bit and use some of our renewed spaces.

The old office is now a playroom, the table is back in the dining room, the microwave and stove are functional and in the kitchen!

I made him go to WalMart

"Mick did not work on kitchen cabinets last night, because I made him come to WalMart with Elizabeth and me."

Today the dumpster went away!

Our kitchen and basement doors were installed. They are currently "unfinished", so picture a warm oak stain.

In this picture you can also see the grouted kitchen floor. It looks great!

So, here's the bit I can't stop looking at. The wall color in the top picture is much more accurate than the second. The walls haven't been grouted yet, but I think it will look pretty close to what it does now. The lines between the white tiles will probably be a little less prominent.

I'm thrilled with how the bathroom is turning out. I thought it would be good, but I can't help going back for another peek. Again, and again, and again.

There have been no updates here, since it's been quiet in the house. No trades have been here for just over a week. That all changes today -- stay tuned!

Mick has begun making cabinet boxes. Here's the first one, and a corner one. Both will go on the south wall, upper.
